This October, D&D are welcoming a talented group of Michelin-starred chefs and mixologists from Singapore to London next month to showcase their innovative cuisine and cocktail pairings as part of the Singapore Supper Club.

As part of the SupperClub, Avenue welcomes hugely talented Michelin Star chef Malcolm Lee from Candlenut, the world’s first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant. Enjoy a unique menu featuring a selection of Peranakan dishes, with the option to enjoy expertly paired cocktails with each course.
Bringing the cocktails to Avenue’s bar and pairing perfectly to Malcolm Lee’s menu, we also welcome Bar Manager Philip Bischoff from Manhattan Bar, currently ranked number 7 in the World’s Best Bars and awarded the title of Best Bar in Asia.

Candlenut takes a contemporary yet authentic approach to traditional Straits-Chinese cuisine. The restaurant serves up refined Peranakan cuisine that preserves the essence and complexities of traditional food, with astute twists that lift the often rich dishes to a different level. Helmed by chef Malcolm Lee, Candlenut is committed to continually create inspired and elevated Peranakan dishes using the freshest seasonal produce available.
Chef Malcolm Lee is the head chef and owner of Candlenut. As the first Singaporean recipient of the Miele Guide Scholarship, he was granted a place at the At-Sunrice Globalchef Academy, where he was able to explore his Asian culinary roots.
A Peranakan, Chef Lee seeks to serve his heritage through a menu of refined tastes and techniques, hence creating Candlenut’s authentic yet innovative Peranakan flavours.
Inspired by the Golden Age of cocktails and fine drinking, Manhattan is reminiscent of a grand hotel bar, modern yet with a touch of old New York glamour and sophistication. Choose your tipple from artisanal spirits, and classic and forgotten cocktails, meticulously crafted from the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse and a remarkable collection of house-made ingredients, accompanied by gourmet bar bites. Manhattan was recently awarded #7 in World’s 50 Best Bars and #1 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
Philip honed his craft at Le Lion – Bar de Paris, which was awarded the ‘Best New International Bar at Tales of the Cocktail’. His career then took him to Amano Bar as the Bar Manager and under his stewardship, the bar was awarded the ‘Best Hotel Bar and Bar Team’ at the Mixology Bar Awards in Berlin. Now leading the team at Manhattan, Philip is all about the experience; the food, the ambience, the people and the service. A reputable bar which boasts a selection of inspired craft cocktails and gourmet bar food from the 1920s, Manhattan is where nightlife in Singapore, we believe, has been redefined.
