If you want to impress your guests this Christmas, then shake up our Funky Drummer cocktail at home. It’s a combination of champagne, brown sugar and homemade cocktail cherries, and is guaranteed to get the party started.
The recipe takes a bit of preparation as that cherry brandy takes two weeks to infuse, but it does double duty as both the base and the garnish so we promise the results are worth it!
Champagne flute or cocktail coupe
Homemade cocktail cherry* and gold powder rim
25ml homemade cherry brandy*
1tsp brown sugar syrup**
Rim glass with gold dust, add syrup and brandy to the glass, then top with champagne and drop in a cocktail cherry.
*Place whole cherries in a sterilised kilner jar, cover brandy and store for one month, then enjoy your cherry brandy and cocktail cherries!
** Add equal parts of water and brown sugar to a saucepan, then simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
